HAPPY 70th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY MOM & DAD!

On this day, July 15th, 1938, my parents, Oliver and Lillian Baker, were united in marriage. They had known each other since the age of 5, married at 20, and are now 90! What an amazing, unheard of, unbelievable accomplishment in today's world! What an inspiration...
CONGRATULATIONS MOM AND DAD!

During these 70 years, they pastored a church for about 60 of those years! They had five children, lost one to death at an early age, and raised four~one son, Andy, and three girls, Marcee, Karlee, and Lana Mae. This in turn generated a whole tribe of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. They have been truly blessed! And all of us, too~

There's a silly saying that has a grain of truth to it: Before marriage, keep your eyes wide open and after marriage keep them half way shut! Oliver and Lillian would tell you themselves that their lives were far from perfect, and there were many hills and valleys along the road they traveled! They have shared many a joy and sorrow, many a trial, tribulation and triumph. Both of them are glad that they kept on keeping on! Look at the incredible legacy that has been left by these two!

I love you both so much, Mom & Dad~
God Bless you richly on this-your special day!

Very very nicely stated. You have a beautiful family and your parents certainly did a good job with this family. How wonderful that they are both pastors, and live the commitment that makes life matter. My heart is dancing...

Thanks, ladies, for your comments! I spoke with my parents twice today and the boys both had a nice visit with them on the phone as well. They sounded good and upbeat and strong.I was happy they were able to be together on this day-my dad's health has been poor off and on lately.I'm looking forward to seeing them for a couple weeks soon.
Hugs,
Lana
