R- U- ever- 2 old for camp?

What does it say for me when the most exciting thing going on in my life right now is SHARK FEST 2008 on the Discovery Channel?? Pitiful! When I was younger, my parents sent me to Girl Scout camp for a couple weeks each summer to break up the boredom. Canoeing, swimming, hiking, snipe hunts, campfires, s'mores, kumbyah... Good stuff!

What about summer camp for us grown-up kids? I did a little research(in between shark shows, of course!). Here's some of the options still available:
Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp: You can jam with celebrities, play in a sold-out concert venue with rock legends, hang out with other rock musicians at the hotel and even go on tour! All of this for a mere $2,000 per day or $8-$12 for a 4 to 5 day stay(depending on add-ons). For more information:

For the Braveheart in all of us, there's Gladiator Training: this is a 3-hour course offered through the Hilton in Cavaleri, Rome. This experience will set you back $760.00.
How about a little bonding time with an elephant? Elephant Mahout Training is available for only $2,150 per night in Northern Thailand at the Four Seasons Tented Camp!
Wine fanatics can harvest, crush, and blend their own wine during this wine making camp in Sonoma and Napa, CA. Cost is $950 per person for 2 nights and 4 meals. For more info: 707-967-5288. This is at the Diageo Chateau & Estate.
Here's one that's right up my alley: Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. Cost ranges from $449-1299 depending on the type and duration of experience you are looking for. Get the skinny here:
www.spacecamp.com
For the paranormal: Ghost Hunter University! This experience is available through the Hotel Maison de Ville in New Orleans, Louisianna. The cost is $125 plus the cost of staying at the hotel.
For the nerdier crowd: Crossword Puzzle Creation Camp-ewwwww!ahhhh! This is a 7-day Eastern Carribean Cruise on the Holland American Ship, Statendam. Cost is $885-1685 per person. You can get the 4-1-1 on this trip by going to: www.stanxwords.com
If you have the hankering for an African Safari with a different twist, try the African Vet Safaris in South Africa. This is $2600 per person for 4-5 days. You accompany a working vet in the area while treating the native animals. Check it out at: www.brotherssafaris.com
Be a Gondolier in Venice! The Hilton Molino Stucky in Venice has a 3-hr course in the fine art of gondoliering. The cost is $55o for the 3 hours. More info: www.hilton.com/venice
For the gamblers among us: Poker Camp-cuz you got to know when to hold em', know when to fold em', know when to walk away, and know when to run! These camps are located in Vegas, Atlantic City and Biloxi. The cost of the camp is $1695-2995. Find out more from: www.wpt.bootcamp.com
Do you have a hankering to ride the waves? Surf's up, dude! Or golf like Tiger? Shaaawing! Do your other interests include fitness, humanitarian missions, motorcycling, writing, or the culinary arts? Connect with all of that and more: www.grownupcamps.com
Learn Dog Sledding: www.mysummercamps.com
Go to a wilderness club med: www.wildernesstours.com/adventure
Rock Climbing: Planet Rock in Pontiac, MI
Weight Loss: www.understanding-weightloss.com

This is but the tip of the iceberg! The list is endless...See, the kids are not the only ones who can go to camp and have fun! There's still time for all us big kids at heart! The biggest obstacle seems to be that ever-annoying money thing!

Actually, Carol, it's a miracle these days all the information you can get via Google in 10 or 15 minutes-which is usually about all the time I have to devote to blogging each day. Thanks for the compliment!
Hugs!
CU Sunday!!
